ICOM IC-M87 ATEX MARINE VHF PORTABLE TRANSCEIVER

The IC-M87 ATEX version conforms to the 94/9/EC ATEX Directive. This version is suitable for use in hazardous areas on land and at sea such as oil rigs, petrol tankers, etc. This version has a built-in voice scrambler with 32 codes for private transmission. The IC-M87 meets the needs of business and industry users who need a waterproof marine radio and simple PMR radio. This ATEX approved IC-M87 transceiver offers safety approved 2-way communication preventing explosion and fire hazard in specified hazardous areas.
The approved rating is II2G EEx ib IIA T3. Please ensure that the IC-M87 ATEX is acceptable for the intended place of use.

The IC-M87 measures only 62 x 97 x 39 mm and weighs 290g (including BP-227AX). The tough one-piece aluminium chassis is designed to meet MIL standard requirements. The IC-M87 is waterproof to IPX7 (1m depth for 30 minutes) and has been designed to handle in extreme conditions such as rainstorms, high-humidity and rapid change of temperature. A large clear backlit LCD display (30 x 8 x 14mm) and backlit buttons provide instant recognition of data and ensures reliable communication in any lighting conditions. The large volume knob and clearly labelled buttons allow for simple and efficient operation at all times whether on sea and land. The IC-M87 comes with a BP-227AX 1700mAh Li-Ion battery pack. That provides a capacity battery life; a maximum of 23 hours operation with no ‘memory effect’ of the battery. The ATEX model has a built-in 32 code voice scrambler compatible with UT-112.
The IC-M87 meets both marine and PMR applications. A simple push of a button toggles the operating band between marine and land channels. Each PMR channel is programmable* wide/narrow (25/12.5KHz or 20/12.5kHz) channel spacing, and CTCSS and DTCS tone signalling are built-in.
An optional speaker microphone, HM-138, has waterproof construction equivalent to IPX7. The HM-138 is an approved accessory for ATEX use.

Compact, Easy to Use and Great Value! The built-in Class D DSC provides additional safety at sea. The built-in DSC watch function monitors Ch 70 (DSC channel) activity, even while you are receiving another channel. Distress, individual, group, all ships, position request/reply, polling request/reply and DSC test calls can be sent. DSC messages can be received and automatically stored in the message memory. When connected to Icom's MA-500TR Class B AIS transponder, you can make an individual DSC call without having to manually input a MMSI number. The IC-M12 can withstand submersion in 1m of water for up to 30 minutes (except cables). The supplied microphone also has submersible protection. The large backlit LCD (23.5 (H) × 64 (W) mm; 15⁄16 × 2 17 ⁄ 32 in) shows a full sized channel number. A 10 character scrolling message shows the channel name and can show position, time and DSC messages. When connected to an external GPS receiver, current position and time are shown on the IC-M412's display. When receiving position information from another vessel, the IC-M412 can transfer it to a navigational device via NMEA 0183 connectivity. The IC-M412 has 0.22μV (typical at 12dB SINAD) superior sensitivity for class-leading receiver performance. The front facing speaker offers 4.5W (typical) of loud, clear reception.

Built-in DSC watch function monitors Ch 70 (DSC channel) activity, even while you are on another channel. In an emergency situation, a formatted distress call can be sent at the touch of a button. With an external GPS receiver, the position request and position report functions allow you to exchange ships position. The received position information can be plotted on a third party GPS or other navigation equipment which accepts NMEA data format. The polling (request/reply) function checks whether a specific ship is in the communication range. Use the hand microphone as part of a public address system and make an announcement on-board or to shore through an external loud speaker or hailer. The RX speaker function allows you to monitor the received audio from the loud speaker or hailer while you are on the deck or tower. The new optional COMMANDMICII™makes it convenient for using the IC-M422 from a separate cabin or tower. Both the IC-M505 and Commandmic HM-162 have an improved waterproof construction to IPX8: (1.5 meter/30 min). This gives them a waterproofing level greater than anything else currently in the market. The optional HM-162 COMMANDMIC™ provides 2nd station capability. The HM-162 features slim dimensions and a sizeable LCD. By using the central jog dial you can operate all functions of the IC-M505 including DSC operation, loud hailer and foghorn from remote locations such as the cockpit or fly bridge up to a maximum distance of 21.3 metres (70ft). When connected to an external GPS receiver, the position request and position report functions allow you to exchange ship’s position information. ICOM IC-M801E MARINE HF TRANSCEIVER

The new IC-M801 is based on the NMEA award winning transceiver, and will be available in two versions. The IC-M801E with Class E DSC operation will be available for non-SOLAS vessels. The IC-M801GMDSS for Class A DSC operation meets both GMDSS and MED 96/98/EC, “wheel mark” requirements for SOLAS regulated vessels.
The IC-M801E/GMDSS features a remote head measuring only 220mm wide, 110mm high and 84.4mm deep. The 'black box' main body of the transceiver mounts out of the way and out of sight. 12-volt wires hook up directly to the transceiver black box. The same black box also hooks into a GPS, laptop computer, and e-mail modem. There's an accessory socket for an external speaker mountable independently of the remote head. There are automatic antenna tuner connections for the remote Icom automatic antenna coupler. An optional automatic tuner, AT-141 easily connects to the IC-M801E/GMDSS. If the tuner cannot tune the antenna, the IC-M801E/GMDSS bypasses the tuner and displays an alert on the display. A stable 125W of output power can provide reliable long distance communication. The large cooling fan ensures stable internal temperature even during high duty operation.
Supplied accessories include separation cable, HS-98 telephone handset, SP-24 external speaker, mounting bracket kits, DC Power cables, ACC plugs and spare fuses.
